The ambitions of Europe in Space
The European Union and its Member States are from now on committed in favour of a ambitious Space European policy, with the prospect of space exploration.
For the time being, Europe has decided to develop and exploit two large space programmes:
GALILEO for satellites navigation and GMES for earth surveillance and security.
The Conference will offer the participant an excellent opportunity :
- To sensitize and mobilize the public authorities and the enterprises around the significant technological, industrial, economical and social stakes of those future space tools.
- To get directly informed by the people in charge of the current status of these two programmes.
- To exchange data and propositions on the potential applications of the future services offered by these satellite systems.
- To debate technological and industrial opportunities offered the companies, the public authorities and the citizens.
- Finally to consider the means of meeting the sizable financing needs of these new applications.
